Man, this happens only once a year, but for me it’s a nightmare one way or another.
I’m just gonna put this out there. Holidays are the crappiest time of the year if you aren’t salaried. In fact, everyday I’m not in the office is another day I’m not getting paid. I’d rather just work through the break and earn enough to support myself instead of worrying about how I’m gonna pay my rent.
Working during the semester was an ill-fated but well-intentioned effort. I really didn’t make a significant amount of money, and really my overall profit, once gas is calculated (since the office is a LONG way from my college), I really only took home about 30% of my total earnings monthly.
Hopefully next year will be a bit better once my tax return comes. My federal witholding is INSANE. Or maybe it’s just the first time I’ve ever done my own taxes. Eh, whatever.
